Somewhere, When Light Caresses Memory

LiFang, Solo Show

Galerie Boulakia is pleased to present the solo show of LiFang at Asia Now, featuring her

new series Somewhere, where light becomes both memory and language.

Through this body of work, the artist explores the boundary between dream and reality across sensorial landscapes imbued with marine and tropical light. Human figures, sometimes appearing as discreet markers, sometimes dissolving into the surrounding glow, open an inner space in which the viewer is invited to project their own memories. Light, vibrant and fragmented, emerges as the true subject: it caresses memory and awakens nostalgia.

In the series Aux sources, LiFang captures the essence of summer: bathing scenes, foliage,

and chromatic transparencies convey a meditative harmony in which time slows down. Broad brushstrokes, vibrant movements, and the subtle interplay between color fields and transitions transform familiar moments into timeless fragments. Through this pictorial approach, LiFang follows a singular path: between figuration and gentle abstraction, she simplifies forms to achieve a sensitive clarity, where her oil paintings transcend representation to reveal the essence of being and express its universal dimension. She thus offers a reflection on memory, light, and sensation, inviting each viewer to rediscover an inner shore, an intimate landscape where dream and recollection converge.

With this solo show, Galerie Boulakia gives the audience of Asia Now the opportunity to

discover a unique body of work, where the evocative power of painting questions our

relationship to time, identity, and shared memory.
